Tips to international DJ Success don't apply here
I've always been true to the art. I started as a bedroom DJ in my high school years spinning classic rap and new wave on 12 inch vinyl. I got hooked on the DJ bug due to my sheer love for music. My friends and I would record mixtapes of our favorite tracks then listen to them over beers to find out what we did wrong and celebrate over what we did nicely. Sadly, the art of the DJ currently has been elevated to mainstream status and a slew of controller-bearing millennials are abound here in Davao. 'DJs' who's personal choice ultimately depends on what the latest Top 40 countdown dictates. I have nothing against Top 40 DJ's because it seems that's the only way to play if you want longevity here in Durian City. Sadly, DJs who have their own sound aren't given top gigs and eventually have to retreat back to their bedrooms...
